Building Consents
For all your Building Consent A consent for building work, including plumbing and drainage, to begin in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. A Building Consent is issued by a Building Consent Authority (BCA) and is not a Resource Consent which is issued by a Territorial Authority (TA). related forms click here.
Most building work requires a Building Consent however there are some exemptions
Building workBuilding work means work in connection with, the construction, alteration, demolition, or removal of a building, siteworks, and building design. that does not require a building consent is listed in Schedule 1 of the Building Act 2004An Act of Parliament replacing the Building Act 1991 governs building work in New Zealand. The Building Act 2004 does not cover planning and resource management, occupational safety and health, and other aspects of managing people. click here.
