Building Consents

Most building work requires a Building Consent
This includes (but is not limited to) the following

• New buildings, pools, garages and carports, additions and alterations including extensions.

• Plumbing and drainage, except repair and maintenance of existing components.

• Change of use eg: conversion of garage or storage into a sleep out.

• Installation or replacement of solid fuel heater other than with an identical unit.

• Construction of any fence or wall higher than 2 metres and swimming pool fences.

• Decks, platforms or bridges more than 1 metre above natural ground level.
